Datasoul Privacy Statement

Last updated: 5th December 2025

Datasoul is built on a simple belief: your data belongs to you, and it should only ever be used in ways that respect your privacy, your autonomy, and your story.

We take that responsibility seriously. This statement explains what information we collect, how we use it, and the choices you control at every step.

1. What information we collect

Email address

When you join the waitlist or contact us, we collect your email so we can respond to you or notify you when new editions launch.

Website interactions

We collect basic, non-identifying analytics such as page visits, device type, and general engagement. This helps us understand how people use the site so we can improve it.

Your uploaded data (YouTube Takeout or other files)

If you choose to create a Datasoul, you may provide a dataset (e.g., YouTube history).

This data is:

  • used only to generate your artwork, interpretation, and map

  • processed privately and securely

  • never used to train AI models

  • never shared with advertisers, third parties, or anyone else

  • deleted once your Datasoul is complete

You remain the sole owner of your content at all times.

2. How your data is used

We use your information to:

  1. Create your Datasoul — the artwork, map, and written interpretation generated from your dataset.

  2. Communicate with you — including updates, order progress, and answers to your inquiries.

  3. Improve the experience — through anonymous analytics that help us understand what’s working.

We do not:

  • sell your data

  • share your email or dataset with third parties

  • use your personal dataset for AI training or research

  • use or store your data beyond the purpose of creation

Datasoul exists to give insight, not to extract it.

3. How long we keep your data

  • Email addresses — kept until you ask us to delete them.

  • Datasets you upload — kept only for the duration of your creation process.
Once your Datasoul is delivered, the dataset is securely deleted.

  • Generated artwork and documents — kept only so we can resend them to you upon request.

You may request deletion at any time.

4. Your rights

Under GDPR and similar privacy frameworks, you have the right to:

  • access your data

  • correct your data

  • request deletion

  • withdraw consent

  • request how and why your data was processed

To exercise any of these rights, simply email us at contact@datasoul.art.

We will respond promptly.

5. Data security

We use secure processing methods and encrypted storage during the creation process.
Only authorised members of the Datasoul team (currently the founder and any designated technical collaborators) can access your dataset, solely for the purpose of generating your Datasoul.

No data is shared with third parties, cloud processors, or analytics services beyond essential website functionality.

6. Children’s privacy

Datasoul is not intended for individuals under 18.
We do not knowingly collect or process data from minors.

7. Changes to this statement

If we update our privacy practices, we will revise this page and update the “Last updated” date at the top.

8. Contact
